(Crocheters as well I assume!)<br />So post your stash... if you aren't too embarrased! These are great for making my super easy fingerless gloves. If you can knit a scarf (or sort of knit a scarf) then you can knit these gloves!! All you do is knit a rectangle, and then sew it up around your arm and hand, leaving a hole for the thumb! It is truely that easy. :)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDlJlG3rsGONunj1uQ0JECCYXFSgtAV4NpMiNVCpkGq6vEiPIaAiFQHV5cR6EyrToCNi0XnqzXx6jE1FBFelZ0-J9QC5JPAUtLN2VwRQwo5K43jTA1MUistR7iTRwVRftMsk-PLOtaGAk/s1600-h/IMG_0136.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDlJlG3rsGONunj1uQ0JECCYXFSgtAV4NpMiNVCpkGq6vEiPIaAiFQHV5cR6EyrToCNi0XnqzXx6jE1FBFelZ0-J9QC5JPAUtLN2VwRQwo5K43jTA1MUistR7iTRwVRftMsk-PLOtaGAk/s320/IMG_0136.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394507736339123842" border="0" /></a>Some scratchy burgundy yarn I use for washcloths<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrKXNeIVaei-TWFLRZbW4NgNuF-kquzGDjBdTvQ-NfWGmH4iIG8vTYPlPmFIomBnLNwHSf5Qosdchu0J6UdIN0e1moqNrPNQPsYklZ6FN6TZ20qxUYVDe6YdNlHjhcq32u2a-h9aG0Klg/s1600-h/IMG_0137.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrKXNeIVaei-TWFLRZbW4NgNuF-kquzGDjBdTvQ-NfWGmH4iIG8vTYPlPmFIomBnLNwHSf5Qosdchu0J6UdIN0e1moqNrPNQPsYklZ6FN6TZ20qxUYVDe6YdNlHjhcq32u2a-h9aG0Klg/s320/IMG_0137.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394508090581126594" border="0" /></a>Also in green... :)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2TwL4j69iMo7Ofgj7VmWbGB-b9JJWflXcFGSAx5akoHNXmWFRwli1Ujr15FJzF2Q6ZOnPLfhjl5Sf9I7DM-93kJe-clgVY5EO80abG-BmkutmrQJYqL8oT7c5iWwOnIkCy08WRUZf4hM/s1600-h/IMG_0146.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2TwL4j69iMo7Ofgj7VmWbGB-b9JJWflXcFGSAx5akoHNXmWFRwli1Ujr15FJzF2Q6ZOnPLfhjl5Sf9I7DM-93kJe-clgVY5EO80abG-BmkutmrQJYqL8oT7c5iWwOnIkCy08WRUZf4hM/s320/IMG_0146.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394508355736458034" border="0" /></a>Navy and silver Simply Soft. "Ya didn't learn your lesson the first time did ya?" Bought more Simply Soft eh? Well no. I did however learn ANOTHER lesson. Never buy more than you need for ONE project of any one certain brand of yarn. Because you might not like it. And then you're stuck with skeins and skeins of it. I bought enough all at once for a scarf for my brother, mother, and father. That's six skeins of the evil stuff. Bleh.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzWo8GgP6TPUn-hsEzlPnkUPO_ap3HbgEV9IDL8FBfbphk9PrJsVmKlN7nwI4dkYu_2BcKKG94eHgb0_xeYmq3ZPU9L8QPlhJfifNF1JtdFpWcZIT4yjK7jkimPmt1JmiTa6sz7ndc6C4/s1600-h/IMG_0165.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzWo8GgP6TPUn-hsEzlPnkUPO_ap3HbgEV9IDL8FBfbphk9PrJsVmKlN7nwI4dkYu_2BcKKG94eHgb0_xeYmq3ZPU9L8QPlhJfifNF1JtdFpWcZIT4yjK7jkimPmt1JmiTa6sz7ndc6C4/s320/IMG_0165.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394510885501517298" border="0" /></a>Some pretty Boulce that my dear cousin <a href="http://mymusingsandthoughts.blogspot.com/">Madison</a> gave me for Christmas. And no, I didn't really learn that whole lesson about buying too much yarn all at once. I bought two pink and two blue skeins of this yarn, and while I love it, at the time, I didn't realize how much it cost. (I thought it was on sale when I picked it up.) It was $8 a skein. Haha. Yeah. So I payed <span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">$32</span></span> for 4 skeins of yarn. I have learned my lesson. (The reason I didn't realize at the register, was that my mother was paying for everything at once, and I was to pay her back for my things. She had many other purchases, and didn't notice the huge amount difference!)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV6zLfI0gKcoQw-hWSmJty1HsTf0FM0X_g1hSjp7Y43VDsaD55qFY4-kblkEQJ8paX_a8Dbdn6NJaxhKtspNQksCK4xdPW7gtis_i3ySBctYRMKQptppkQz72fBrB-0d2YO4UN0qi0FrU/s1600-h/IMG_0172.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV6zLfI0gKcoQw-hWSmJty1HsTf0FM0X_g1hSjp7Y43VDsaD55qFY4-kblkEQJ8paX_a8Dbdn6NJaxhKtspNQksCK4xdPW7gtis_i3ySBctYRMKQptppkQz72fBrB-0d2YO4UN0qi0FrU/s320/IMG_0172.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394514838414170546" border="0" /></a>Some of the same type of baby yarn given to me, once again by my wonderful cousin <a href="http://mymusingsandthoughts.blogspot.com/">Madison</a>!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN3bNKWyEIAy0Pks7gBuwHEMRn712P5ak2wXw0mLqIe7oO1Zd4poeKyQvnyTPITtQpDH_H9dediZq5-UMXgi8JJtSiYogCgW4PRfIqP9Zq4YGiwsyCs5B-DXJ8dF9xLgLGR8M7YMNpY8A/s1600-h/IMG_0166.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgN3bNKWyEIAy0Pks7gBuwHEMRn712P5ak2wXw0mLqIe7oO1Zd4poeKyQvnyTPITtQpDH_H9dediZq5-UMXgi8JJtSiYogCgW4PRfIqP9Zq4YGiwsyCs5B-DXJ8dF9xLgLGR8M7YMNpY8A/s320/IMG_0166.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394510869722496818" border="0" /></a>A hogpoge of yarns... the blue chinelle was the first yarn I ever bought. I must apologize for not posting much these last few weeks. I've been having a rather lazy summer, so I've been a bit lax in things like blogging, music, and knitting. With school soon to resume, I'm beginning to work a bit harder in these areas. I keep telling myself that the reason I haven't been blogging is because I have nothing to blog about... but that's not true! I still have yet to post good pictures of my square foot garden, my knitting stash, and I hardly ever post about music! So, dear reader, I have my work cut out for me this week! I'll start with something easy however. Here's a Simple Woman's Daybook.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVKzO8QnRlJrzD4zjDIxehVIOb1MPqXsDZutBotI7L3Fzz2XXJabOKKrSW14NosaedjU-g5jEe1OeFU2U99oT0QB5eWanJYdCJ5kGL5h_98FLLXKEqwHK7sri94lBvyNK7m-KgCfmPvgM/s1600-h/simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 198px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVKzO8QnRlJrzD4zjDIxehVIOb1MPqXsDZutBotI7L3Fzz2XXJabOKKrSW14NosaedjU-g5jEe1OeFU2U99oT0QB5eWanJYdCJ5kGL5h_98FLLXKEqwHK7sri94lBvyNK7m-KgCfmPvgM/s320/simple-woman-daybook-large.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5363964977132238178" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />For Today: July 29th, 2009.<br /><br />Outside my window: Hmm... I can't see outside... the blinds are closed! :) But I do know that it is all pretty and wet outside because it has just finished raining.<br /><br />I am thinking: About how oatmeal is really hard to scrub off of things after it hardens. Yeah... don't ask. :)<br /><br />I am thankful for: Rugs. :D<br /><br />I am wearing: My pink and brown hat that says "Ireland", and my long-sleeved pink and brown bunny shirt (haha, yes I was trying to match!), and jeans.<br /><br />I am reading: A fictional series by Karen Hancock called Legends of the Guardian King. The books are *hrm* a little more romantically inclined than I would like, but they are wonderful allegories.<br /><br />I am hoping: That autumn will come soon.<br /><br />I am creating: A baby blankey. :)<br /><br />I am hearing: My brother Austin smacking while eating a PB&J while fiddling with his new Mac computer. (He's headed off to college in two weeks.)<br /><br />Around the house: Mom's out counseling someone, daddy's at work, and Austin, as I just stated is eating a PB&J while on his Mac computer.<br /><br />One of my favorite things: Rain... and being cold. :) I'm tired of summer and heat. I want fall to come so I can be chilly, and then go snuggle up in a blanket.<br /><br />What I accomplished since last week: I finished a dragonfly dishcloth that I had been knitting, I started my Greek back, I've aaaalmost finished my biology study guide, and I tried out for my church's youth praise band. We actually have three youth bands, and I was chosen to play piano for the *worst* one. SIGH. I wanted them to use me as a fiddle player more than piano, and I DIDN'T want to be in the Sunday night band. But if that's where the Lord wants me... that's where I'll stay. *Lord, please give me patience and humility to bear being a band that I feel is a waste of my talent!!*<br /><br />A few plans for the rest of the week: Our family is headed up to Athens and the mountains this weekend. Austin is going to UGA in two weeks, so we're going up there once again to check it out.<br /><br />Here is the picture I am sharing with you:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5BRqGjnmERZJmdAN0A80SqqguPjbYVtGxa-axkCDS1TCQWYXGF6pTbquOTo4xXD_6865ywU-Wl046y5GEzsdY3PunKQc3ElNviA_6EEFoQqdRNkqUlvd22L_cG8p9s4dtWLw_hnjpOf4/s1600-h/IMG_2022.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5BRqGjnmERZJmdAN0A80SqqguPjbYVtGxa-axkCDS1TCQWYXGF6pTbquOTo4xXD_6865ywU-Wl046y5GEzsdY3PunKQc3ElNviA_6EEFoQqdRNkqUlvd22L_cG8p9s4dtWLw_hnjpOf4/s320/IMG_2022.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364281630520007666" border="0" /></a><br />This is my silly/handsome/gorgeous/nutty precious fluff named Jeremiah. I'm so excited!! We leave after church, and the car ride to camp shall be very interesting. :P I have a very fun car game called Rubberneckers. It is interesting. Camp is going to be fun as well. :~) I love the hymns and the swimming and the hiking and food and the camp store... it's all so wonderful! This is my second year, but Madison's first. Please pray that we'll have a safe drive up there, and that all the campers have a good time, and stay safe! I've been shopping and packing like a mad woman to get ready. I'm bringing my camera, so be sure to check my blog once I'm back. There will be pictures. Lots of pictures. TONS OF PICTURES!!*Slightly evil chuckle* Mwahahaaa. Tehee. *Giggle* :~)<br /><br />On another note, here are some terrible pictures of my new Square Foot Garden! I am so excited at how it's growing! Last year we planted a watermelon plant, and it grew a watermelon the size of a (rather small) fist. And then it stopped growing. This watermelon is already bigger, and growing, and grrrowing, and GROWING! Yay!Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-67705936924625160272009-07-07T11:18:00.000-07:002009-07-12T06:34:38.436-07:00Wonderful random news!I've been pretty busy lately with no time to post! Our family had a blast on the 4th, when we traveled out to my aunt's house to swim and eat good food. (As you've probably already read on my cousin <a style="color: rgb(204, 102, 204);" href="http://mymusingsandthoughts.blogspot.com/">Madison's blog</a>.) Madison and I are headed to a camp soon, and that will be AWESOME! We are both really excited!! And still more exciting information, is that my father just read Mel Bartholomew's book Square Foot Gardening, and the very next day took me to Lowes to buy all the material's for building a square foot garden! He (my father) was raised a farm boy, son of a county extension officer (someone who helps farmers with bug/disease/varmint problems). He has tons of experience with gardening/farming. It's what he majored in at colledge. He read the book, and immeadiently wanted to try it out! There are so many benefits to square foot gardening! A sfg is easily protected from deer/other varmints, you don't have to walk on the soil that covers the plant's roots (that harms the root system), you don't have to plant or cull so much, it's a portable garden, there are virturally no weeds, and there are many, many other benefits. Check out Mel Bartholomew's website <a style="color: rgb(204, 102, 204);" href="http://www.squarefootgardening.com/">here</a>. We've finished building the first frame, I can't wait to plant my seeds!Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-14301347671324904722009-06-29T19:17:00.000-07:002009-06-29T19:41:48.660-07:00Already Another Simple Woman's Daybook<img src="file:///C:/Users/Macy/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot-2.jpg" alt="" />Hmm... Going swimming with my favorite cousin at my aunt's house! :P Tehee.<br /><br />I am thankful for: Cream soda! It's absolutely delicious!<br /><br />I am wearing: A cute summer dress that I got at Walmart.<br /><br />I am reading: Brian Jacques's Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. (I love pirate books!) (I have an older brother to thank for that...)<br /><br />I am hoping: My foot will stop hurting! (Bee sting! See post below.)<br /><br />I am creating: Mass chaos and widespread panic. *Giggles* I thought a baby blanket would sound boring...<br /><br />I am hearing: The garbage disposal gurgling again. *Sigh* Yet another thing that needs fixing around the house.<br /><br />Around the house: Asleep? I think... methinks they are at least all abed.<br /><br />One of my favorite things: Countryside magazines!<br /><br />What I accomplished since last week: Picking, shelling, and cooking a whole pot of purple hull peas and pole beans!<br /><br />A few plans for the rest of the week: Going to swim with Madison on the 4th, and hopefully meeting my new little sister. Tehee, no, we don't have another child in the house. It's just me and my brother. Our church has some of the more committed high-schoolers "adopting" an 8th grader that is coming into high-school. We have to meet with them and tell them about our highschool ministry. 'Twill be fun. We even have enough for lunch tomorrow! I was so excited, because I've read that peas take so much work to grow and shell and cook, with so little gain, that they aren't really worth growing. Some of the peas I got were a little under-developed and green, but they were all right. (Just REALLY hard to shell.) Anyhoo, they tasted wonderful, and we had a great meal.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA3TOC8NgojH7wOJ5vIgf_ika6hquHu6QmAkiqw8FC8iRww5S8_pKAPQe90yXAGwbIQ1ndj_1jvd4-Y9BmG5Qf5bTJIlWzwLw5Nif-GbRBjSZsILH8sbG2ddj5WDZwcz_m-0e_Y9mXs58/s1600-h/IMG_1992.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA3TOC8NgojH7wOJ5vIgf_ika6hquHu6QmAkiqw8FC8iRww5S8_pKAPQe90yXAGwbIQ1ndj_1jvd4-Y9BmG5Qf5bTJIlWzwLw5Nif-GbRBjSZsILH8sbG2ddj5WDZwcz_m-0e_Y9mXs58/s320/IMG_1992.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352935333867373522" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2vd8rFisyle20HIelcxUisOMd_9vWTKuElQIvfFL9hffjbTVrcjk6FpqAaBLBNvmb3OgMn0G5qzvaX0_40zxE0xhQgWhBbEWRtXxPa5FFRiso6Ik87A53EbvrGlo_LNMZeKAPdu6Wfkg/s1600-h/IMG_1976.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 179px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2vd8rFisyle20HIelcxUisOMd_9vWTKuElQIvfFL9hffjbTVrcjk6FpqAaBLBNvmb3OgMn0G5qzvaX0_40zxE0xhQgWhBbEWRtXxPa5FFRiso6Ik87A53EbvrGlo_LNMZeKAPdu6Wfkg/s320/IMG_1976.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352935169001617426" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpi_zp8BKxeg-_bm5N8qaGTI_J3e2-HT6AYj2CNaL8ikHWNVK7XOKndvaGZgoTg4PCP-ITF8eT2ahuX0nIzALycPwFa73eawDcZrEsfw3SoIu_la6SMNRO6vgAafNmeFLvYH0sqEwoJdI/s1600-h/IMG_2006.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpi_zp8BKxeg-_bm5N8qaGTI_J3e2-HT6AYj2CNaL8ikHWNVK7XOKndvaGZgoTg4PCP-ITF8eT2ahuX0nIzALycPwFa73eawDcZrEsfw3SoIu_la6SMNRO6vgAafNmeFLvYH0sqEwoJdI/s320/IMG_2006.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352935491474803522" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNM7lX5-VpT5zo9t-b2p1WusTW7LipAlFSjwQIAJbjpJ68GB-0j_dfuwI4cS8iK8lCx4mEH3YQLIawOAa8ZhOp9l3L2SVQGM1jNCzxernBDr8DVMm9YwdoEjGa50EbqHikSD_2J1mDD6g/s1600-h/IMG_2008.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNM7lX5-VpT5zo9t-b2p1WusTW7LipAlFSjwQIAJbjpJ68GB-0j_dfuwI4cS8iK8lCx4mEH3YQLIawOAa8ZhOp9l3L2SVQGM1jNCzxernBDr8DVMm9YwdoEjGa50EbqHikSD_2J1mDD6g/s320/IMG_2008.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352935722079530498" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1l-I2X3IYzxTcaDG7yhs2rYLeQUTKOES5jL4ReGuZ-F3MahAxpbHWRwHob25I9-m83QFotgAMmGv_CsHKqM3U42X6nhWqF4YOjBm-QRqaJj3zMWM9I9C7kGRz5viZFBNBODUPfinwJDk/s1600-h/IMG_2010.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1l-I2X3IYzxTcaDG7yhs2rYLeQUTKOES5jL4ReGuZ-F3MahAxpbHWRwHob25I9-m83QFotgAMmGv_CsHKqM3U42X6nhWqF4YOjBm-QRqaJj3zMWM9I9C7kGRz5viZFBNBODUPfinwJDk/s320/IMG_2010.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352936161443168178" border="0" /></a><br />(All the scraps!)<br /><br />The not so nice news, is that I stepped on a bee or yellowjacket this morning and got stung on my foot. I was watering my herbs, and I decided to remove the little bitty mamosa tree that was trying to grow in my dill planter. Being so kind hearted towards plants, instead of just ripping it out and throwing it away, I gingerly dug it out, planning to replant it in a heap of old potting soil behind our house. A few feet away from it, practically before my foot even hit the ground, I pulled it away with a yelp. I immediently hobbled away crying, so I never got a look at what stung me.<br />I've been stung by yellow jackets before, but never a bee, hornet or wasp so I don't even know what those feel like. My mum gave me a Benadryl right after it happened, and I kept an ice pack on it for a while, so the swelling isn't TOO bad. There wasn't a stinger, so I didn't have to worry about that, but my foot did swell up enough that I can't walk on it right. I've been an invalid all day, which is kind of fun! :P Hehe, I'm just kidding of course, I've still been helping around with what chores I can. I would post a picture of my foot for you... ... ... tehehe... but it looks a little... erm, well... FAT. :P Hehe. I told my mum, "If this is what it feels like to have fat feet, I'm surely never gonna be fat!!" The few times I've tried walking flat footed, it's felt *really* weird. And it hurts, so I don't really try.Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-71687050924572934672009-06-27T18:35:00.000-07:002009-06-27T19:30:41.507-07:00Hope ChestAs you might have read on my cousin <a href="http://mymusingsandthoughts.blogspot.com/">Madison's blog</a>, we went yard-saleing today! It was a good morning. :) Before I write about today however, I must tell what I got yesterday for my hope chest! I got this precious set of a throw and pillows from Cracker Barrel's outdoor sale for $20. (And the cute/adorable/elegant little bird - it was $2 even on sale, but I HAD to get it!)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSt3k8KCu7vum2rM3LzsZ9w4AwLjQqxfzN9UwDqpViG869CFw0pXaYbc7cPX_03y1-ijzlyw8jSargZU3KshVnRpYlAU0TEEDpAhw64wD2qNk-kuTuRkvN4wzYjfyCjMf5mkdvnxtbt6w/s1600-h/IMG_1961.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSt3k8KCu7vum2rM3LzsZ9w4AwLjQqxfzN9UwDqpViG869CFw0pXaYbc7cPX_03y1-ijzlyw8jSargZU3KshVnRpYlAU0TEEDpAhw64wD2qNk-kuTuRkvN4wzYjfyCjMf5mkdvnxtbt6w/s320/IMG_1961.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352188133577515554" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwv6oeObWzBzOAOmXAvWIa2ZhlVvV2vgk__5cIXyvFz65SS3WXkmPs_1mm8wLaCh17cYDMeXCrBs-sGkiBRBjsyAfA_JTT3Aqb7OXUcuyYG4acyWQObHZ_7WrVpYfXRnaMcJ9ZajtbwoU/s1600-h/IMG_1963.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwv6oeObWzBzOAOmXAvWIa2ZhlVvV2vgk__5cIXyvFz65SS3WXkmPs_1mm8wLaCh17cYDMeXCrBs-sGkiBRBjsyAfA_JTT3Aqb7OXUcuyYG4acyWQObHZ_7WrVpYfXRnaMcJ9ZajtbwoU/s320/IMG_1963.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352188982219274450" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpk6R6_md0dm4wuTARDouOjA6VWcLam-Jzy_NS7fS7HAI24C3zmVyDccTeCJZP_FUtaSb_mXpef7Ddzs6kKEE7VRwGG7u3JXUr-IAYf6BRr-5zW3KO4bFAS_D1wd-XRkLGGRbRhWWQisw/s1600-h/IMG_1959.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpk6R6_md0dm4wuTARDouOjA6VWcLam-Jzy_NS7fS7HAI24C3zmVyDccTeCJZP_FUtaSb_mXpef7Ddzs6kKEE7VRwGG7u3JXUr-IAYf6BRr-5zW3KO4bFAS_D1wd-XRkLGGRbRhWWQisw/s320/IMG_1959.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352187731127891490" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I didn't want to take the throw out of the case, but it matches the pillows. They were all 60% off, or else I wouldn't have dreamed of getting a set like that from Cracker Barrel. I looove Cracker Barrel, but everything is sooo expensive! (Like the *gorgeous* patriotic quilt I drooled over for 10 minutes that was $60 alone.)<br /><br />Now for today's buys.<br /><br />Firstly, I got this "set" of plates for... well, I can't remember how much it all came out to be, but I think they were under $10? None of my pictures are very good, because I was taking pictures of them in my lap in the car! :)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4d8OvbegrAnEbl0wW4cf1YVVWNE6bNeexjQ3-dgwiBbMs_aOzeHhHnAG0acZnfLRIhGoCrDVRJ_ULGDJqTW09hlEgiz6LLnir9sJqHenjCszJXyNGrmXfFP9tOV0Z1BK1a9BuVpSQoug/s1600-h/IMG_1944.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4d8OvbegrAnEbl0wW4cf1YVVWNE6bNeexjQ3-dgwiBbMs_aOzeHhHnAG0acZnfLRIhGoCrDVRJ_ULGDJqTW09hlEgiz6LLnir9sJqHenjCszJXyNGrmXfFP9tOV0Z1BK1a9BuVpSQoug/s320/IMG_1944.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352190462470782322" border="0" /></a><br /><br />All the salad plates have different plants on them, and they all have names of herbs written in calligraphy on the edges.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYysA50NOjB6ssPP8px_ilzDKx05ri6ZPCvBLNhPPo_hj6OAIic6TqhzZezKNeowE10ykC8D2OYbdsk5deUcd9SyOQW55vQWSGksOrXrjRlj_CCkv7FTRcJU-wv_rj3QA-giCCWnmpWsk/s1600-h/IMG_1947.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYysA50NOjB6ssPP8px_ilzDKx05ri6ZPCvBLNhPPo_hj6OAIic6TqhzZezKNeowE10ykC8D2OYbdsk5deUcd9SyOQW55vQWSGksOrXrjRlj_CCkv7FTRcJU-wv_rj3QA-giCCWnmpWsk/s320/IMG_1947.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352191402426304674" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirrtS2dBkU5n-4a2M2z9EaInQNsHMrEOso4MFvl2jwymODDipXpAeNoNGrs7Quz6wofrdhvZoMV91eIzvDypPIxHdqSKVi6JbQYbgb_NC5frqNdnt840ozsHJ5i_6lWe-o54i5y1oIBW4/s1600-h/IMG_1948.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirrtS2dBkU5n-4a2M2z9EaInQNsHMrEOso4MFvl2jwymODDipXpAeNoNGrs7Quz6wofrdhvZoMV91eIzvDypPIxHdqSKVi6JbQYbgb_NC5frqNdnt840ozsHJ5i_6lWe-o54i5y1oIBW4/s320/IMG_1948.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352192165302484050" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOVtPX2eHmRsXTeH4FPuA3g_HJ9PcNbjCONVXKNR7jAbB3oujYaTZbn5LS7-0HjzmEdG14d54f9xPtH3AMg4poV5YQ-7B_TcbTPpb-KZT1MMj86Jc_e_Xxb7cJq_Wde_GSr-XFsjMHF_g/s1600-h/IMG_1949.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOVtPX2eHmRsXTeH4FPuA3g_HJ9PcNbjCONVXKNR7jAbB3oujYaTZbn5LS7-0HjzmEdG14d54f9xPtH3AMg4poV5YQ-7B_TcbTPpb-KZT1MMj86Jc_e_Xxb7cJq_Wde_GSr-XFsjMHF_g/s320/IMG_1949.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352194041592970322" border="0" /></a><br />(The purple flowers are my favorite!)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9suU_nRMUKv_kIJeWzDSiMrT2SwD7gkmxV5PPs-H7ZJdB58pVQjzVnqk9Or5Fjmf0R5H5NjY7Lq7QLfBsMoLg6Xzg83DP6unl8npSYxW9hyphenhyphenyEWLz9QoBg1sFrAZSaJ8IrzqNB63_oaz4/s1600-h/IMG_1945.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9suU_nRMUKv_kIJeWzDSiMrT2SwD7gkmxV5PPs-H7ZJdB58pVQjzVnqk9Or5Fjmf0R5H5NjY7Lq7QLfBsMoLg6Xzg83DP6unl8npSYxW9hyphenhyphenyEWLz9QoBg1sFrAZSaJ8IrzqNB63_oaz4/s320/IMG_1945.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5352190910728369714" border="0" /></a><br /><br />They are <span style="font-weight: bold;">SO</span> me, and I love them all! The chest was labeled at $25, and my mom only had a $20 bill with her, so we were praying that the man would take $20 for it. And of course, as God is so wonderful at doing, He allowed the man to very lenient, and even glad for our offer. He even helped us load it in our van! :) I am so happy, and God is so good!<br /><br />I love the etching on the metal. Cadillac Sky is awesome. My favorite newgrass band.<br /><br />I am reading: Northanger Abby<br /><br />I am hoping: I'll find some AWESOME bargains tomorrow when my mother and I go yardsaleing. I've never been to a yard sale. Always wanted to go... Looking for hope chest stuff!<br /><br />I am creating: Too much. I'll post about my knitting tomorrow. (Hopefully...)<br /><br />I am hearing: Crickets... faintly.<br /><br />Around the house: Asleep.<br /><br />One of my favorite things: Yogurt.<br /><br />What I accomplished since last week: Not playing the one video game that we (my brother and I) really really like. It's a farming game... albeit a rather weird one. Japanese people are odd. No offense, but the games they come out with... are odd. But none the less, I've really enjoyed having it. REALLY. I play it too much. I haven't been sticking to my 1 hour a day rule. So, I went on a WII fast. :P<br /><br />A few plans for the rest of the week: Yogurt.<br /><br /><br />... yes, I am very tired.<br /><br /><br />Here is a picture I am sharing with you:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhQCA-dCD4J82GfqpmvS0xABHl63UR6wHT_xy_-nOuWDRtF-zSS4lOFXedmfYdFopzK5eGNtjwRT0zoHxQmM4Dm7HFDvdpYJvZC5EyP2Weg0VC7AneML07i3b3zzHKOfwLayJeafQm1nQ/s1600-h/IMG_1940.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhQCA-dCD4J82GfqpmvS0xABHl63UR6wHT_xy_-nOuWDRtF-zSS4lOFXedmfYdFopzK5eGNtjwRT0zoHxQmM4Dm7HFDvdpYJvZC5EyP2Weg0VC7AneML07i3b3zzHKOfwLayJeafQm1nQ/s320/IMG_1940.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351834700508678658" border="0" /></a><br />Yes, this is proof that I'm tired.<br />... My computer has been having a little internet trouble for the past few days. I'm having to play catch-up on commenting and posting! (I also lost my camera for a few days...) :P<br /><br />I'll hopefully do a post on all my knitting projects soon. I'll take pictures of my stash. It's been growing... and grooowing... and GROWING... I really need to stop buying yarn!<br />I'd love to hear your silly stash stories, those of you who knit, so be sure to comment on my next post!<br /><br />So I'm FINALLY getting around to posting pictures of my garden! I've been meaning to do this for forever. So, here they are. I'm really excited about these this year! We have a great crop, and there are NO YELLOWJACKETS!! I'm ALLERGIC and deathly afraid of yellowjackets.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYnklUr-Sf9Z_XT41E1vWdtAsiAY3bR5OolaV14oIUnMTcU4SwVzEBfqZJWNMgV8liuV49yYo4M32xgVWE99IiixwZW4jgz-GTtO8HPmCQJbcxWrVv2kXeBmSarY3r8MRpisjyz_wK-DA/s1600-h/IMG_1880.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYnklUr-Sf9Z_XT41E1vWdtAsiAY3bR5OolaV14oIUnMTcU4SwVzEBfqZJWNMgV8liuV49yYo4M32xgVWE99IiixwZW4jgz-GTtO8HPmCQJbcxWrVv2kXeBmSarY3r8MRpisjyz_wK-DA/s320/IMG_1880.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351828900653742674" border="0" /></a><br />This is what color they will become.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVL5DlSPpkyXjmp20LweVHt4_oOJAGdf-P-zpEJTpZLpaWAh8dpeq_DhLVY1-zVBArrrJ3cNHv1uNWuiC1Bjc0rQ_fl3ws1T4qUnuZfOXyPKhrOdOelgpgUyPk0k7aOz_yJK6GUTLNn8M/s1600-h/IMG_1916.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVL5DlSPpkyXjmp20LweVHt4_oOJAGdf-P-zpEJTpZLpaWAh8dpeq_DhLVY1-zVBArrrJ3cNHv1uNWuiC1Bjc0rQ_fl3ws1T4qUnuZfOXyPKhrOdOelgpgUyPk0k7aOz_yJK6GUTLNn8M/s320/IMG_1916.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351829652590287858" border="0" /></a><br />Here are some pole beans. I decided to try my hand at baking last night.<br /><br />Hehehehee...<br />Teheheee...<br />*Snicker*<br /><br />Sigh... my thumb might be green, but it is absolutely lost in the kitchen. I suppose I'm not THAT bad... but I usually stick to box mixes and such. My brother had my camera at camp, or else I would have taken a picture of the monster I created. It. Was. HILARIOUS.<br /><br />Really funny looking. I found the recipe on another blog, and thought, "Oh, look what an easy recipe! And I already have all the ingredients!" It's called a Dutch Baby. Which is weird... but anyhoooo...<br />I mixed it all together, and stuck it in the pan, which I stuck in the oven. I was surprised to see how high the edges rose. Very surprised. Aaaand then I took it out when the edges nearly touched the rack above. It was big. Lol. So anyways, I'm gonna stick to gardening for a while.<br /><br />*Squeals* I just remembered something!<br />My daddy took me to Lowes this afternoon (He made me drive there and back in my brother's big ol' truck!!! EEEK!) and he got me 7 different herbs! We got: Rosemary, Oregano, Pinapple Sage (Smells JUST like pinapples!!), Bee Balm, Parsley, Dill, and Sweet Basil! I'll show some pictures in a day or three. (It's dark right now!)Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-14951356412657906102009-06-03T11:47:00.000-07:002009-06-09T14:14:53.777-07:00DrawingI've never really been into drawing... it's just something I randomly do in my spare time. Here are some pictures I've drawn. I don't typically color them, but it is fun. :) Sorry they are so dull. I can't scan, so I had to take pictures, and the lighting wasn't good.<br /><br />The flowers and the Chickadee I drew yesterday and today, and all the rest I drew over a year ago.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC55uTCq16ue_7wXHS6VQe8hcphJOLvXr440iNO_CsD2aCvz-Aw5amE0Y4kSdX8PpE04_N0ChaC8DblfLKvNWem3yqG79Vd7vegEWMBe9edWiR7YjKMXLtMStfYdjSgUz2ahiiDOzqJGs/s1600-h/IMG_1797_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC55uTCq16ue_7wXHS6VQe8hcphJOLvXr440iNO_CsD2aCvz-Aw5amE0Y4kSdX8PpE04_N0ChaC8DblfLKvNWem3yqG79Vd7vegEWMBe9edWiR7YjKMXLtMStfYdjSgUz2ahiiDOzqJGs/s320/IMG_1797_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343178520296289090" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDdspYuhWUWqAoMC9hivuDeQfwA3nZDK-6Zxaabyk8CLx8TzHO8o8C0Ga9ndlDjB0BzoscLdodlpd-_cmxX_CKntfhcWpWEpOYtyaS5tokUPnjXziVtFNGIg7089Mri7MlX1d-ACaSl0Y/s1600-h/IMG_1798_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDdspYuhWUWqAoMC9hivuDeQfwA3nZDK-6Zxaabyk8CLx8TzHO8o8C0Ga9ndlDjB0BzoscLdodlpd-_cmxX_CKntfhcWpWEpOYtyaS5tokUPnjXziVtFNGIg7089Mri7MlX1d-ACaSl0Y/s320/IMG_1798_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343179644452612290" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-14_twFH1FHUkShYZyQMTDLPa-Ieh4ynueIXcgWRM3pam5X_OHPeXKooIb13UGIs4M59kM5yHZ-5xV7VfQr2kwVzvjC8HrBHiINi8unejjRsMtKiZqygR7-i1CuRf9yfLUsxrZfIZK98/s1600-h/IMG_1799_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-14_twFH1FHUkShYZyQMTDLPa-Ieh4ynueIXcgWRM3pam5X_OHPeXKooIb13UGIs4M59kM5yHZ-5xV7VfQr2kwVzvjC8HrBHiINi8unejjRsMtKiZqygR7-i1CuRf9yfLUsxrZfIZK98/s320/IMG_1799_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343182797907604002" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnvwDPxrDrUZvZ1DeR_jrg3GjxX8-psDfAlYRgCfKWxAYsQAydsP4Ett4c8_6Itu2q05O-Wm_5CznIKW6oFG6lA8yBnDrvPzBEjEhn5gtf1KxCLzzbx7ZIhQojG2rBNWoKUXQuYeyty9c/s1600-h/IMG_1800_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnvwDPxrDrUZvZ1DeR_jrg3GjxX8-psDfAlYRgCfKWxAYsQAydsP4Ett4c8_6Itu2q05O-Wm_5CznIKW6oFG6lA8yBnDrvPzBEjEhn5gtf1KxCLzzbx7ZIhQojG2rBNWoKUXQuYeyty9c/s320/IMG_1800_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343184146208729778" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gZYPAF8FD1abBynqylPm6Ino1V3Zxx7SE8RANTePSs65JI7ea7GXR9jIQTU1XAWgK_XCQ6UXxZhSZwhGqMl6krj-kli1-Kv3hb6XUhmcsORYuotg9dPEhPygDmh6_Dc33ICqtPzs_Aw/s1600-h/IMG_1806_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-gZYPAF8FD1abBynqylPm6Ino1V3Zxx7SE8RANTePSs65JI7ea7GXR9jIQTU1XAWgK_XCQ6UXxZhSZwhGqMl6krj-kli1-Kv3hb6XUhmcsORYuotg9dPEhPygDmh6_Dc33ICqtPzs_Aw/s320/IMG_1806_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343185289879305618" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVDpPcaB8_A_yeSTN-54D2-KJMq5r6JdLlt3SmJ4sPlXTUvks678IJ5OZlw8L17CGmgFnzWaBZgLJbC-af8IxefcP_ETxXCs4DuNgZoZljcw4kBac0eLY-buczTzzvCOBfBFZuyrCwHsA/s1600-h/IMG_1808_1.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVDpPcaB8_A_yeSTN-54D2-KJMq5r6JdLlt3SmJ4sPlXTUvks678IJ5OZlw8L17CGmgFnzWaBZgLJbC-af8IxefcP_ETxXCs4DuNgZoZljcw4kBac0eLY-buczTzzvCOBfBFZuyrCwHsA/s320/IMG_1808_1.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343187687255941554" border="0" /></a>Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-90929771186471485132009-06-03T08:13:00.000-07:002009-06-09T14:15:14.679-07:00Horse SittingI. am. so. EXCITED.<br />A lady at church happened to mention to my mother that she "horse sits" for a woman she works with. The church lady (whom we don't even know very well) lives a good 20 minutes away from the woman with horses, and that makes for very long trips, twice a day, to feed. When she mentioned this to my mum, my mum told her that I LOVE horses, and I'm always looking for jobs like that. And so the church lady called the horse lady and gave her my number. She called me, and my mother and I went to visit her. She lives probably less than 5 minutes away, and she has 14 animals - 4 adult horses, one three-week old filly, 5 dogs, 2 barn cats and 2 indoor cats. She showed us around the whole farm, told me all the names of the animals, what they eat, what their personality is and such, and told me that I had the job. She is paying me <span style="font-weight: bold;">$30 dollars</span> <span style="font-style: italic;">a day</span> to feed 11 of them. (She's leaving the indoor cats enough food and water for the week, and taking one puppy with her.) I'll already be able to pay for my summer camp!! I had been praying that I would get enough babysitting and animal sitting jobs to pay for HALF of my camp fees! Leave it to the Lord to do exceedingly and abundantly more than you can ask or imagine! And what's more, the horse lady told me that if all goes well, it's highly possible that she will continue to use me as a horse sitter, and even let me ride at her barn! (I haven't ridden in over a year.) I'm soooo happy, thank you Lord!Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-52297245276628072012009-05-30T20:34:00.000-07:002009-06-03T07:53:28.371-07:00Great to be home again...Hey all! Our family had a WONDERFUL time at the beach. My brother Austin and his friends Eric and Trey enjoyed fishing and skim-boarding and wake-boarding and playing video games. My mother and I cooked huge meals for them, but they stayed hungry! (You'd <span style="font-style: italic;">never</span> imagine how much three teenage boys can eat until you live with them for a week.) I absolutely LOVED crabbing, and overall I think I caught three crabs. :) Not exactly a success, but it was really fun anyways. (Hey, we only spent a total of maybe 3 or 4 hours crabbing all week.) I also caught a pretty big catfish.<br />My mother and I spent most of our time together beachcombing. We looked all week for sandollars, and FINALLY both found two on the day before we left! My favorite shells are definitely scallops. They come in SO many colors and varieties, and most look so antique! We also went two hours to Panama City to watch Night at the Museum 2 on a rainy day. We all enjoyed it, and had a wonderful time playing road trip games coming and going.<br />We had a bonfire on the beach, and Ausin and Trey buried Eric in the sand! It was pretty hilarious. Also, since my dad has been vacationing at this beach his whole life, we got to spend some time with his mother's dear old friend. My father's mother (my grandmother) died when he was in colledge, so I never met her, but I had a wonderful time listening to her best friend Mrs. Dorthy talk with my parents. She also is an avid gardener, and when she heard that I was planning on getting some muscadine vines, she <span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-style: italic;">gave</span></span></span> me a little muscadine plant in a pot!! I was sooo excited! I still need to decide where to plant it. Anyways, here are some pictures of all this!<br /><br />Here are some pictures of the guys being silly while crabbing at the beach. It's my brother's senior trip (he just graduated last week), and we're going down to Indian Pass, FL with some of his good friends. My mom and I are the only girls, so we'll be doing a lot of cooking, crafts, and probably some shopping while we're there. It's not a commercial beach, so there aren't as many malls or restaurants, but that's what we love! Going on-shore fishing and crabbing, hunting for ghost crabs with flashlights at night, doing board games, watching movies together, and making huge, scrumptious summer meals are all the wonderful things we love doing down there. We're going to have a great time!<br /><br />P.S. Pray that we have good weather! (It's supposed to rain several days that we are down there!!) I want it to be as fun and memorable as possible, since it is one of the last vacation's that we will have with my big brother!!Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-64931138501310651022009-05-19T13:52:00.001-07:002009-06-03T11:31:19.704-07:00Done for the summer! Finally! I'm finished with my piano and fiddle recitals <span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">and</span> school!! Today (Thursday) I finished my Algebra, and I think that I brought my grade from a B+ up to an A! (It was the only subject that I didn't have an A in.) I had my fiddle recital on Sunday afternoon, and piano Monday evening. I'm sooo happy to say I did great in both! I wasn't nervous for my fiddle recital, as both my songs were so much fun, and I knew them both really well. The first was Star of the County Down, (my favorite "slow" song, as played in the chorus recital) and Stinky's Blues (which is a silly name, but truly, it is my favorite "fast" song).<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHK9Qpdyr_wO2U2pBttg8SWEGVB4UmrcBtptEl1kNhsBatVOVXW0le-9ZjQGXPpvVFdbLXWPiMkEiVD57X9lkG5PEJ5HCyb0JiyzeKihxE2lkXbGB02CNAtoPPzISZ-weuT4PdmfhziXA/s1600-h/IMG_1445.JPG"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHK9Qpdyr_wO2U2pBttg8SWEGVB4UmrcBtptEl1kNhsBatVOVXW0le-9ZjQGXPpvVFdbLXWPiMkEiVD57X9lkG5PEJ5HCyb0JiyzeKihxE2lkXbGB02CNAtoPPzISZ-weuT4PdmfhziXA/s320/IMG_1445.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343128716332457410" border="0" /></a><br />The piano recital however, I was really nervous about. I was playing Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G Minor. I played it for my GMTA competition and did really well, but had stopped practicing it afterwards. This last month I had been scurrying to get it ready. Thankfully, all the hard work paid off! I had plenty of fingerslips, but the song is pretty fast, and very loud, so they weren't very noticable. At one spot in the middle I completely blanked, but I just kept pressing keys for maybe a measure, until I regained my place. My mum didn't notice, so I'm hoping no one else did! So I am finally, totally, completely, DONE!Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7708862020238407833.post-20876359473013742372009-05-09T20:18:00.000-07:002009-05-09T20:34:14.147-07:00Hiya YallHi everyone!<br />As some of you know, I'm Madison's cousin.<br />(from MyMusingsandThoughts)<br />This isn't my first try blogging, but hopefully I'll be able to keep a blog going this time! I won't be posting much this week, or next, as I'm not finished with school yet. Once I finish, I'm free to blog!<br />My blog is named Greenhorn Homestead because I'm just getting my feet wet with homesteading. I don't even have any chickens yet!! :) (I view chickens as the true initiation into homesteading.) Hopefully we will get some soon. I am a Christian homeschooler, and I do have a wonderful garden growing that I'm enjoying immensely, and today I've just begun my first batch of jam ever! (I didn't have enough blackberries to finish it... I just cooked and strained what I had, and I'm waiting for some more to ripen.) I hope to learn quilting from a neighbor of mine soon, and I already knit, crochet (sort of), and dabble with embroidery and sewing every now and then! Most importantly however, is, I <span style="font-weight: bold;">want to learn!</span>! I can't WAIT for summer so I can start <span style="font-style: italic;">learning</span>! :)Macyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06961614578120864523noreply@blogger.com6
